Senior IT Project Manager – Permanent position in Brussels

Tasks / Responsibilities:

• End-to-end accountability and responsibility for the management of (large scale) programs and projects including Functional Specification ;
• Management of multiple projects ;
• Manage delivery within scope, quality, time and budget ;
• Sharing best practices and project learning ;
• Uses program/project management tools and techniques appropriately to plan ahead, foresee and respond to obstacles and ensure timely delivery: project plans, milestones, measures, budgets, team and stakeholder communication, resource and time management ;
• Defines and establishes appropriate governance structures and processes to drive and manage the program/project ;
• Forms and manages teams by organising resources and skills effectively against tasks ;
• Ensure ongoing commitment of all stakeholders whose buy in is required for the successful delivery of the program/project ;
• Establish, perform and control the processes to plan, track and correct the activities, quality, timelines, critical paths, risks, issues and resources necessary for a project to produce or modify a software product, in the context of the projects’ requirements and constraints ;
• Identify and manage risks and issues within the project and at a program level, and escalate appropriately ;
• Establish / operate within the governance (decision-making) structure for the program/project and manage/escalate issues and risks ;
• Establish / adhere to project management standards and controls (including project documentation, status reporting and investment governance) ;
• Ensure successful transition to production/steady-state environment.

Profile

• 6-8 years of experience in similar role ;
• Time management skills – able to work on multiple project streams simultaneously ;
• Used to working to tight deadlines and identifying problems at an early stage ;
• Flexibility and willingness to work autonomously and self motivated within set competencies in a team and fast paced environments ;
• Proven Project Management capability ;
• Extensive knowledge and experience of Program Management tools, standards and principles ;
• Proven negotiation, problem solving and conflict management skills ;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications ;
• Have a strong delivery focus adhering to consistent project standards ;
• Understanding of IT Governance related processes and practices ;
• Flexible – able to work in a fast changing environment and to react positively to re-prioritisation ;
• Proven track record in managing virtual teams and working in matrix structures ;
• Fluent in written and spoken English and French or Dutch ;
• Banking experience is a must.
